The Festival of the New European Bauhaus takes place from 9 to 12 June 2022, through various events (conferences, debates, exhibitions, meetings…) organised in 29 countries and accessible online. As an official partner of the New European Bauhaus (NEB), West Creative Industries is associated with the event proposed on Thursday, June 9th as part of EUniWell, the European University of Well-Being.

EUniWell’s core mission is to understand, improve, measure and rebalance the well-being of individuals, our communities and society as a whole, based on our shared values – democracy, inclusion, diversity, research, inter- and trans-disciplinary challenges, entrepreneurship and co-creation.

Programme

On Thursday 9 June, from 11:15 to 12:00, the Universities of Linnaeus, Florence and Nantes University invite you to a Zoom videoconference for a presentation of EUniWell and three examples of local projects illustrating innovative solutions for sustainability and well-being:

  • Well-being, proximity and urban spaces: strategies and planning scenarios for a healthy city; intervention by Saverio Mecca (University of Florence).
  • TerraCool project (supported by WCI): a cool oasis in the urban environment, made with raw earth and XXL 3D printing, using robotics, architecture and design; intervention by Ignacio Requena (Nantes University).
  • Holding Surplus House project: exploring the built environment by shaping a house with materials at hand; intervention by Åsa Ståhl (Linnaeus University).

The three projects chosen for this event place particular emphasis on the notions of use and aesthetics. They focus on sustainability, design and inclusion in all their dimensions, thus contributing to well-being.
