EXPE[Angers] 2021

22nd & 23rd of March, 2021

A creative sprint to imagine new uses and models for ecological transition
dedicated to Angers Metropolis public and private stakeholders

Companies, ngos and public actors of Angers Metropolis: on March 22nd and 23rd, 2021, take part in a creative sprint to boost your ecological transition!

Each multidisciplinary team will be made up of students from the TALM School of Art and Design and the University of Angers and a project leader with a concrete problem to solve.  They will propose resilient solutions within 48 hours, based on circular economy, sustainable development and user-centric design.

EXPÉ [Angers] is co-organized by the West Creative Industries program, Angers Metropolis, TALM School of Art and Design and the University of Angers, in partnership with ADEME, the ADECC, the CCI of Maine-et-Loire and Angers Technopole.

48h to imagine new uses to accelerate transitions

EXPE [Angers] proposes a forward-looking and experiential approach, which places the question of uses at the center of the innovation process.

Multidisciplinary teams (design, science and technology, economics, marketing, etc.) will be asked to create new products or services, transform a business model, a supply or distribution channel, rethink the layout of a space or develop a public policy.

They will be made up of 3 to 4 students and at least one member of a local company, ngo or public stakeholder bringing a problem to solve. Professional designers and experts in circular economy and sustainable development will coach along the process.

Note: A workshop to develop the projects after the creative sprint is offered in addition, from March 24 to 26, 2021. The student teams will have at their disposal design and manufacturing tools to materialize the projects: models, drawings and models, prototype, service design, etc.

Angers Metropolis committed to ecological transition through circular economy

Circular economy is at the heart of the commitments of Angers Metropolis, which in June 2019 adopted an ecological transition strategy based on 3 pillars:

  • Energy transition
  • Environmental transition
  • Transition to a circular and responsible economy

In this context, the EXPE [Angers] challenge intends to open up various avenues of reflection in terms of social, energy or ecological transition. Everyone’s perspective will enrich the subject and encourage new solutions: it is about exploring the field of possibilities!
