Internationalization

Ouest Industries Créatives welcomed a delegation from Seoul Museum of Art to Nantes on    3 – 5 October. This public institution, dedicated to contemporary art and culture, is well-known for its international programme. The visit follows on from an earlier meeting between the Université de Nantes and the Museum which was organised through Hanyang University (Seoul), one of Ouest Industries Créatives’ international partners. Building on an initial scientific cooperation, it paves the way for more extensive cooperation between the two countries.

From the Voyage à Nantes trail to the machines on the Ile de Nantes

The delegation was keen to meet with local stakeholders engaged in a multi-partner approach to cooperation in the fields of culture and the creative and cultural industries. The visitors were also interested in solutions developed to meet the challenges of mediating and disseminating works in the digital age.

Ouest Industries Créatives and the Ville de Nantes authorities had arranged visits to:

  • The Ville de Nantes authorities cultural department
  • The Voyage à Nantes trail
  • Université de Nantes
  • The Ile de Nantes machines

Our partnership with Seoul

In October 2017, Ouest Industries Créatives invited researchers from Hanyang University (Seoul) to present their work at the IEEE International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality (ISMAR). They also took part in the AR and VR Meet Creative Industries workshop, thanks to support from the Pays de la Loire and Nantes Métropole authorities.

Two exchanges between the Université de Nantes and Hanyang University followed in 2018: researchers were hosted in Nantes at the beginning of the year and the two institutions jointly organised the CareTVX workshop at ACM TVX (International Conference on Interactive Experiences the Television and Online Video) in Seoul in June 2018.

Having met researchers from the Université de Nantes in Seoul at this conference, the Seoul Museum of Art expressed a wish to visit Nantes for an exploratory tour.
